  • CCEG (Communauté de Communes d'Erdre et Gesvres)

The CCEG (Erdre & Gesvres village community) was created in December 1994. It counted by then four townships: Grandchamp-des-Fontaines, Sucé-sur-Erdre, Treillières and Vigneux-de-Bretagne.

Since December 28, 2001, it counts from then on 12 villages. The following villages have joined: Fay-de-Bretagne, Héric and Notre-Dame-des-Landes (from the district of Blain); Casson, Les Touches, Nort-sur-Erdre, Petit-Mars and Saint-Mars-du-Désert. They bring a homogeneous impulsion to the whole community, which is responsible for leading common projects. Studies and actions for the welfare of the community are achieved in territorial, economic, social, environmental and cultural fields.

  • It is the fourth biggest village community in Loire-Atlantique.

12 villages accounting for more than 50,000 inhabitants and with a strong demographic growth: +16.6% since 1990 (Loire-Atlantique average rate being +7.8%).
A young population: nearly 30% of inhabitants are less than 20 years old, thus there is a challenging education issue.
A 50,000 hectare-wide territory: about the size of Nantes urban community.
A territory now knowing a fast urbanization: between 1990 and 1995, 193 planning permissions were delivered, between 1996 and 1999: 376, and between 2000 and 2002: 446.
A territory counting 18,936 people in employment, a growing number thanks to the attraction of Nantes.
Jobs are mainly in the tertiary sector (nearly 1 job in 3), especially in education, health, social action and trade.
